With the Cybertruck being an insane design, making itself a niche item, the RT1 will be the option for people who want electric, have the money, but don’t want to look fully sci-phy. And the Rivian is designed i nside and out to be practical, lots of actual useful features. Not just a crazy design.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. The not-insane, but-committed-to-the-segment guys are probably thrilled.

Rivian and Bollinger will both beat Origami-truck to market by years, as will  eF150.  Will be nice to figure out the segment WITHOUT the distractions from PredoPedoGuy.

I think Bollinger has priced themselves out of existence.  They will sell a few, but likely not many.

I don’t think so.  The early adopters of electric vehicles are quite wealthy.

In this case, though, I don’t think it’s about being an early adopter. I think that the V enn diagram of people who have the money, people who want an EV, and people who think the Bollinger is attractive enough to buy is going to be a very small piece.

How do we have so many electric trucks not for sale?

I disagree, but time will tell.  I’ve certainly been wrong enough times to know that happens :)

I agree most people would go for the Rivian unless they are obsessed with the social media and brand  value of owning a Tesla so they can brag.

Is everyone familiar with “whip a Tesla?”

I’m now old and can’t tell what’s ironic anymore.   offered for your amusement.

That’s the problem: their entire market is early adopters only. Tesla is now dealing with this problem. Keep in mind that today, BEV’s and hybrids only make up %2( ish) of the entire NA auto market. That will change in time but those who wanted and are/were the early adopters already have their car.

The next step won’t be a particular vehicle from any manufacturer , it will be a break through in battery technology.

Some of those Tesla's are getting long in the tooth by now. I think as we see EVs from mainstream brands start to come online, we'll start to see another wave of adopters, plus people who have had a Tesla for years now, will be wanting something newer/nicer/different.
